Getting a New Pet

Image
I was so excited to see this guy in my mother's arms about 8 months ago. This little guy had no name for about 3 months because my dad and I kept arguing about what his name should be. It came to me when I first saw him, I decided his name would be Apollo. My dad on the other hand, wanted his name to be Max. I thought the name Max was very boring and overused for a dog's name and I advised against the name and eventually my dad dropped the battle and let me keep his name as Apollo.      It took a while for Apollo to become accustomed to his new name but he really enjoys being outside. The first picture above is what he looks like. We got him from a family friend and had no idea what breed he is. We spent hours and hours looking through baby dog pictures to try and figure out what breed he was but we just couldn't figure it out. We got him and were wondering how big he would get and we were so excited! Until he got bigger...     He's a little dog and we were expect

Pick up a hobby.

Image
Have you ever been so stressed that you don’t know what to do with your free time. All of your free time is spent thinking about things you should be doing instead of things you can have fun doing. Picking up a hobby is one of the best ideas I have had in a long time. Hobbies have been a really good thing for a very long time. Everyone has had a hobby in their lifetime or something they like doing. Based off of that fact you should have a hobby or start looking for one. Having a hobby can boost your mental emotional level and improve your everyday life.  If you aren’t interested in a hobby, no big deal. Completely optional and if you can’t fit that much on your plate you might even already have a hobby and not know it. It could be going to the gym or sleeping. Just having one is very convenient and a good way to waste time.

Vaccines are mandatory in Canada?

Image
Today I was talking to a group of people and someone brought up the topic of vaccinations. Everyone put in their piece whether or not people were vaccinated or what they thought about it. Until one person stepped forward and said something that I had never expected to hear. She said, "Vaccines are actually mandatory in Canada. You aren't allowed to go into establishments unless you have your Vaccine Passport." This was crazy to hear, you weren't allowed to go shopping, eat at a restaurant, or even go to the movie theater unless you were vaccinated.     Honestly the vaccine isn't a big deal to me but a lot of controversy has grown about it. Both sides are either arguing that you should get it or that you shouldn't. Freedom to decide whether or not you wanted to get one felt like a citizen's right. Canada had other plans... It was news to me to hear about Canada releasing news that the vaccine was mandatory. It might as well even be news to you.

Preparations for a Haunted House

Image
Preparing for the haunted house is a very interesting task. Due to our circumstances we aren't able to alter the location at all so we have to spend a pretty penny buying wood to build it. Yes, we build the haunted house inside the location so that we can make it scary and add things to every room. It's something I've been doing for a total of 7 years including this year. Some of the best times are made in a haunted house when you are scaring the screams out of everyone that goes through.     In preparation I also have to order all of my stuff for the year I will need. I order contacts of different colors and I order a new face. The face is a latex prosthetic mask that I paint and wear over my face by applying pros-aid to my skin and sticking it on. Aside from everything I need to do, we also have to build the entire haunted house within the confines of a really old historical jail. In the picture shown above that is called the "Grid room" more or less

Keep your friends close.

Starting college and growing up really does make things change. New schedule far from home and you don't usually go to college with your hometown friends. People start to forget and make new friends wherever they go. I can say the same for myself. Joining the Esports team at PNW has allowed me to make a large amount of new friends and the adjustment felt natural.     About a couple weeks of school, I started to contact my old friends and check up. Very close friends I arranged times to go around and just spend a day with them. The motivation boost and morale really went up in my life after I did this. Friends are good to have but close friends are almost never replaceable. You spend most of your life with these people and you start to understand each other and laugh together. If you are ever feeling down just refer back to your friends and plan something with them. It helps out a great amount.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to play video games competitively?

Image
Esports are an incredible thing. The ability for people to grab a controller or get on a mouse and keyboard and play virtual games for real money is just mind blowing. The competitive scene for Esports is only growing larger as time goes on. For most people Esports are not actual real sports but in my opinion they are and I can a give you a couple reasons why.     Esports are a combination of a bunch of mental categories. The ability to stay calm and keep your cool in very tense moments and perform normally is one of them. Everyone is effected by stress in every sport. If your team is down and you don't have much time you could panic and miss a vital opportunity. Also, the knowledge required to understand what your opponents are trying to do and what you can do to stop them is also very mental.     Esports are entering the sports scene in a crazy way. The 2020 championship for a game called "League of Legends" peaked at around 45.95 million concurrent viewers durin

An interesting start to my school year.

Image
I absolutely cannot believe how my school year started. I had decided to do college on a whim because my parents were fully supporting my decision. I wanted to make this decision because I felt like I needed more going on in my life and I just simply had to much free time. Although my free time was spent working a majority of it, I still felt like something was missing.      I was really excited for school to start so I could meet a bunch of new people and have fun memories. That was apparently a delusional thought for me. I tried out for the Esports team here and made the varsity team. I was pretty excited about that until the absolute worst happened. One day I was casually walking around on a tour with the team a day before school started. All day I had felt an extreme heat. I was wearing a hoodie, a shirt underneath the hoodie, and pants. I figured that was the reason and I continued about my day.     I went into school the first day and luckily I only had one class. I walked
